NFL Week 9 Preview

NFL Week 9 Preview

Look for Chris Ivory to have a BIG DAY. Courtesy of media.nola.com

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2, 3-0 away) at Atlanta Falcons (5-2, 3-0 home)

Prediction: In a surprisingly meaningful division game, look for Michael Turner to lead the Falcons to victory against the 30th ranked Buccaneers run defense.

Fantasy Sleeper: Malcolm Jenkins - Falcons receivers should have a nice game since the Bucs will need 8 in the box to stop Turner.

Chicago Bears (4-3, 2-1 away) at Buffalo Bills (0-7, 0-3 home)

Prediction: The Bills have shown some fight as of late, losing in OT to both the Saints and Chiefs. The Bills will finally breakthrough and get their first win.

Fantasy Sleeper: Steve Johnson - He’s been Fitzpatrick’s go-to-guy lately, and the Bills will have to open up the passing game due to the Bears stout run defense.

New England Patriots (6-1, 2-1 away) at Cleveland Browns (2-5, 1-2 home)

Prediction: The Patriots are great at stopping what you do best. For the Browns this is Peyton Hillis, and unfortunately he’s their only playmaker on offense. Patriots win big.

Fantasy Sleeper: Benjarvus Green-Ellis - He should get plenty of touches after the Pats take a large lead.

New York Jets (5-2, 3-0 away) at Detroit Lions (2-5, 2-1 home)

Prediction: Rex Ryan will have his team ready after an embarrassing 9-0 loss to Packers last week. Jets will not lose two in a row.

Fantasy Sleeper: Shonn Greene - When the Jets have a large lead in 3rd quarter and LT gets some rest, Greene should get plenty of carries.

Arizona Cardinals (3-4, 1-3 away) at Minnesota Vikings (2-5, 2-1 home)

Prediction: The Vikings have created quite the mess for themselves and are in no position to be winning football games.

Fantasy Sleeper: Derek Anderson - Not many options here, but Anderson should have a good game against a struggling Vikings defense.

New Orleans Saints (5-3, 2-1 away) at Carolina Panthers (1-6, 1-3 home)

Prediction: Coming off a big win against the Steelers, the Panthers shouldn’t propose much of a challenge to the Saints.

Fantasy Sleeper: Chris Ivory - The Panthers have a strong secondary, and Ivory should be given the opportunity to have a big game.

Miami Dolphins (4-3, 4-0 away) at Baltimore Ravens (5-2, 3-0 home)

Prediction: This game will come down to the fourth quarter, but give the advantage to the Ravens at home.

Fantasy Sleeper: Willis McGahee - If a banged-up Rice continues to struggle, look for McGahee to get more carries in addition the goal-line carries he already gets.

San Diego Chargers (3-5, 0-4 away) at Houston Texans (4-3, 2-2 home)

Prediction: Texans must win if they want to stay with the Colts, and the Chargers have struggled mightily on the road. The Texans need to and will win this game.

Fantasy Sleeper: None - The Chargers have a great defense, so it will have to be Foster, Schaub, and Johnson who lead the Texans to victory.

New York Giants (5-2, 2-1 away) at Seattle Seahawks (4-3, 3-0 home)

Prediction: Eli Manning should exploit a suspect Seahawk secondary and lead Giants to victory.

Fantasy Sleeper: Giants WR - They should all have big days.

Kansas City Chiefs (5-2, 1-2 away) at Oakland Raiders (4-4, 3-1 home)

Prediction: The Chiefs 1st overall running game should run all over a suspect front 7 of the Raiders.

Fantasy Sleeper: Tony Moeaki - When the Raiders put 8 in the box, Cassel will look to Moeaki since Asomugha will be all over Bowe.

Indianapolis Colts (5-2, 2-2 away) at Philadelphia Eagles (4-3, 1-2 home)

Prediction: Vick is back, but the Colts are not the team to find your form against after an injury break.

Fantasy Sleeper: Pierre Garcon - With Collie and Clark out, Manning will need to find someone else besides Wayne. So why not Garcon?

Dallas Cowboys (1-6, 1-2 away) at Green Bay Packers (5-3, 3-1 home)

Prediction: This just might be the most lopsided Sunday Night game all season. The Packers will take care of business at Lambeau.

Fantasy Sleeper: Brandon Jackson - He should have a nice game against a depleted Cowboys defensive line.

Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2, 3-1 away) at Cincinnati Bengals (2-5, 1-2 home)

Prediction: The Bengals disappointing season will continue.

Fantasy Sleeper: Isaac Redman - The Steelers will want to keep the Bengals offense off the field, and with Mendenhall banged up, Redman should see some action.
