Week 11 Stats of Note In College Football

Check this video out. If you have not heard of Luke Kuechly, you need to get used to hearing his name in your household.

I love this portion of the blog because I love my statistics. Let me show you some things I learned from the week that was.

  • Luke Kuechly now has 146 tackles in 10 games. That total is 26 tackles more than the second best tackler in the country. Absolutely amazing.
  • Oklahoma State has taken over the top spot in the total offense department. Oregon surrendered to the thrown to a team that accumulates 547 yards/game.
  • Stanford and Nevada both love third downs. They also love to convert them. 58% and 57% respectively, drives have been kept alive thanks to players like Luck and Kaepernick are a big reason for that.
  • Reason for the SEC East Champs? South Carolina ranks second in the country with 35 sacks this season. That's 3.5 sacks per game
  • With that being said, Army and Stanford have only allowed 4 sacks this entire season. And many wonder why Stanford is a one loss team right now.
  • The Rutgers offensive line has been deplorable. They have allowed their quarterback to be sacked 39 times this season. They also only get 2.92 yards per attempt this season. No one is getting dinner bought by the quarterbacks or running backs until that gets fixed.
